#48 – How to photograph chocolate with Heather Mubarak

my food lens podcast episode

When you are scrolling through instagram and come across a chocolate chip cookie with melted chocolate, it makes you drool.

But photographing chocolate chip cookies in a way that makes the viewer drool is not the easiest task in the world. Brown food like chocolate can be insanely tricky to photograph.

In this episode we are joined by Heather Mubarak, recipe developer, food photographer, cookbook author and creator of the food blog, Browned Butter Blondie.

Heather found her niche in baking and chocolate, in particular. Heather’s award-winning toffee (based on a secret family recipe) has been featured on Rachael Ray Everyday and The Martha Stewart Show and has been sold by Williams-Sonoma, Sur la Table, Nordstrom, Whole Foods and more. Heather’s work has been featured on The Bake Feed, Taste of Home, The Kitchn and Food52 among others.
